Linda's You Hold the Key Valentine Card

Linda has done it again and created a gorgeous card!!!
Today I'm back with another Valentine card.  The red paper I used to mat this card came from the Doodlebug Sweet Cakes paper pad.  This paper pad is so great for Valentine cards and the great thing is that each sheet is double sided so you can really get alot of use out of it.
I attached a Cheery Lynn Designs French Pastry Doily to my mat with Scor-Tape.  The sentiment in the center is from the JustRite Romantic Sentiments Centers.  On top of the doily,  I added a Cheery Lynn Dutch Scallop Square which was popped up with foam dots.   A Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish was added across the corner.  These were all cut from Esse Smooth Pearlized White paper from the Classy Cards 'n Such shop. The Cheery Lynn Designs Celtic Heart was cut using the Wild Cherry paper from The Paper Cut Layering Swatches #2.
The flowers are Cheery Lynn Cuties 2 cut from the same paper as I had used for the mat.  To make the Cuties, cut two strips of paper with the die cut and then glue the two strips together with a narrow line of glue close to the bottom - one on top of the other - with the petals alternating.  Then either slip one end into a quilling tool or hold it with a small needle-nose pliers or similar tool and wind it around into a small ball, gluing as you go.  Once finished, hold it for a minute or so and allow the glue to dry.  Then gently fold the petals outward to more closely resemble a flower.   All of the Cuties work the same way...there are just different petal shapes to choose from.  They are all here in the Flowers & Leaves section.  This was my first time to make these flowers and because I didn't have a quilling tool to roll them, they didn't roll as tightly as I've seen them done.  This left me room to add some Want2Scrap Rhinestones for their centers!  For an added touch, I cut some Cheery Lynn Olive Branches and mounted these under the flowers.

I think this is one of Linda's most beautiful cards yet!!!  Don't you agree???   Please let her know what you think with a comment on this post.

I have been stamping for 18 years, and love to try new things. One of the new things I just started is digital stamping.  I find it is as fun and as challenging as stamping.  And I love Spellbinder dies,  and embossing folders of all kinds. I love flowers and bling and Copic markers.

When I am not at work, reading or playing on the computer, you will find me making cards, which I donate to the ladies organization at church.  My style tends to be what ever I am in the mood to do that day. I do not use much designer paper because I want people to see the image and not worry so much about the background.  I have a blog and hope you will stop by to see it.

I can't wait to see what these talented ladies create!!   How about you???   Check in often or better yet, become a follower of this blog, subscribe to email updates or follow us on Facebook.   Links are on the left sidebar.

Sarah's Vintage Valentine

My, how these months have flown by! It's hard to believe it's time for me to share with you my final card as one of Beverly's Guest Design Team members. I have had so much fun designing for her - and using so many wonderful products from Classy Cards 'n Such in the process! So let me now share some more great things from her store on another one of my Valentine creations.

I started by making my card base with a piece of shimmery cardstock from the Specialty Paper Variety Pack. This particular cardstock is called Stardream Fuse Azalea and can be purchased separately too.  On that I put a piece of pink cardstock which I had dry embossed using the Hearts embossing folder. I tied a bow around that with some beautiful Light Pink Sheer Asiana ribbon. Then I placed my stamped image which was layered over some gray cardstock on top. Finally, I added three gorgeous little Gillian Raspberry flowers. They are so, so pretty and with their speckles of glitter they add such a wonderful feminine touch. And that was it! A quick, easy Valentine.

I hope with this card I have continued to inspire you to create your own works of art. The items from Beverly's store have been a big inspiration to me and I am sure they will be for you, too!

Wishing You Many Blessings,

Sarah

Thanks, Sarah, for sharing so many of your beautiful creations!!!

Thanks to each of you for stopping by!!!  Until next time...

Linda's Pink Valentine

Linda is back with a gorgeous Valentine!!!

The Christmas holidays are behind us and it's time to start looking to the new year ahead.  Since the stores are full of things to remind us that Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I decided that my first card of 2012 should be a Valentine card.

Instead of using the traditional red for this card, I chose to go with pink.    If you haven't figured it out by now, pink is one of my favorite colors to use in cardmaking.  I just seem to always be drawn to that color!

I started by matting the card with some Valentine DP from my collection.  I then layered a Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Heart and added the Heart Within My Heart from Cheery Lynn Designs. Don't forget to save the punchouts!  They will work well inside this card, on another card, or the small hearts can be used for confetti! The hearts were cut from the Rose Quartz cardstock.  This Heart Within My Heart die is so versatile that it is great for a Valentine card but would be great for a wedding or engagement card as well.

To add interest to the card front, I used Nestabling Scalloped Heart Pink Pearls and regular pink pearls, both from Want2Scrap.  The saying on the card is from an outline sticker sheet called "Happy Valentine" and the gold outline hearts are from a sticker sheet called "With Love".  I used 1/4 " Scor-Tape to adhere all the layers and the Joy Foam Pads Small to pop up the Heart Within My Heart die.

Beverly has several different Cheery Lynn Designs and Spellbinders heart dies in the Classy Cards 'n Such shop, any of which would be a great addition to your Valentine cards.  Also take a look at the beautiful Want2Scrap pearls and rhinestones she has.  They add so much interest to your cards.
Thanks, Linda!!!  Click the links above to see the items in the Classy Cards 'n Such shop.

Thanks for stopping by!!!  Until next time...

Another beautiful card from Jennipher...

Hello everyone! it's Jennipher and I'm back with another card using the fabulous 3D art available at Classy Cards ''n Such online store.

For my card I chose to work with the Passion Flower, Camelia, Honeysuckle 3D die-cut sheet. I created my card base and then I added various layers of Laced with Grace designer paper. Some of the layers I matted with Esse Smooth Pearlized Cocoa paper. I added a bit of White Flower Eyelet Trim to one of the cardstock layers.

My focal point of the card is the 3D flower which I put together with large and small Joy Foam Pads. These flowers are super easy to put together and make for a really elegant card. People will think that you have worked on them for hours!

For finishing touches I added some Red Rhinestones by Want 2 Scrap.

Beverly has added some gorgeous Glitz Paper Pads to the store which is where my gorgeous designer paper came from. You need to check out these paper pads. I got one of each and I'm loving them!

Sarah's Shabby Valentine

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and Sarah is starting us off with another great card!

It's not far away, Valentine's Day, that is! And a few months after that will be a popular time for Spring weddings. But before the weddings will come the announcements of engagement, and showers to attend. Oh, so many reasons to make cards for love :-)

That's why, when making this Valentine, I decided to leave off a sentiment and make it so it could be used for a variety of other occasions - all having to do with love!

To start off, I made my base card out of dark brown cardstock. Then, I cut a layer of pink card stock and ran it through my embossing machine using the Hearts Embossing Folder. I sponged some brown ink over the hearts and along the distressed edges of the cardstock.

To create my centerpiece, I started with a Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three die. I die cut it twice: once with the brown cardstock and again with vellum cardstock and adhered the vellum onto the brown. I embellished that with these beautiful coordinating Want2Scrap pearls and added some little flowers. In the centers of the flowers I also added a little bling: these super pretty pink baby rhinestones. In the center of the tag I put one of these pink pearl hearts from the Nestabilities Want2Scrap line of bling (can you tell by now how much I love these?!). And in the middle of that I just added a little puffy heart sticker I found in my stash. I think any little heart would do. I put a couple of patterned paper butterflies on the corners and my card was done.

I love pink and brown, and I love the shabby look. But most of all, I love cards that can be used for a number of occasions, and this one fits the bill. Come to think of it, it could also be used as a friendship card, or card to your sister, even a "just because I love you" card. What do you think?

I hope I have inspired you to get making some love cards of your own. With all the pretty and romantic items in this store, I am sure you'll have no trouble creating them at all!

Wishing you many blessings,
Sarah

A Trio of Cards from Sarah

Sarah has a beautiful trio of cards to share today!   She has shared lots of wonderful pictures so that you can easily see what she has done.  Enjoy...

Hello and Happy New Year!

I have a little "bonus" in my creation for you today. Instead of just one card, I have three to share with you! It is a trio of cards that work well as a set. I think they would make a wonderful gift. You could just add a few envelopes and maybe stamp a pretty flourish or baroque pattern on the flaps - or even line the flaps with the same patterned paper as the card. Then just tie them up with some lovely ribbon, tulle or raffia and voila! You have a nice handmade gift for someone special!

I actually started out intending to make just one card using these Spring Market, Yacht Club & Country Estate papers by Webster's Pages, but when I finished it, I realized it would be really easy to incorporate pretty much everything I did onto more cards using a variety of the paper patterns. So... I did a couple more and soon had my set of three. I love how they turned out, and plan on making more as gift sets. And just wait until you see how easy these cards are to make!

All you have to do is start with a cardstock base card made from any coordinating color to the pattern paper you choose from these wonderful Spring Market papers designs. Then, choose another layer of cardstock in a complimentary color to go on top of it. Next, cut one of the pattern papers down to size to adhere it to that. I also added some lace ribbons and trims- Ecru Delight; Ivory Cotton Teardrop and Black Elegance. They all work so well with all of the Webster's Pages combo pack papers.

Now for the fun of adding the other embellishments! I used Spellbinder's Fancy Tags Three dies to die cut some vellum card stock. Then, I stamped and embossed my sentiments on the vellum tags. Over the vellum, I adhered this awesome coordinating Want2Scrap Nestabling. It comes in a variety of colored pearls and rhinestones, and all you do is peel and stick them! And the great thing with putting them over vellum is that you can use glue dots on the vellum right behind the bling and the adhesive won't show through!

For a little added touch of elegance, I punched out a few butterflies and dipped them in some shimmery glitter and scattered them on the cards. But you could use a variety of things like birds, flowers, etc.

And that is it! Fast, easy and so pretty. I love simple but elegant gifts that I can make which I know my recipient will be "wowed" by ;-)

I hope you like my card set and that this has inspired you to make some cards of your own using the awesome papers and embellishments here at Classy Cards 'n Such

Wishing you many blessings for the New Year,

Sarah
